Louise Hodge Profile
Hi I am Louise Hodge, Managing Director at Fidelity
I have worked within my own business for over ten years now and over that period of time I have had some amazing, some fulfilling and some horrible ‘seat of your pants’ experiences. But that is what business experience is all about; what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I have also realised recently that the actual skill of running a business, not the everyday task of delivering a business service, takes about seven years to master. So now I feel like I am actually steering the ship rather than it steering me.
In those ten years I have learnt a lot about my business and even more about clients businesses. How else do you ever get the opportunity to see business within a different industry? I have been privileged to be trusted by clients who have allowed me to understand their business and have a positive effect on its success. In the beginning of my business career I concentrated on the services my business delivered rather than seeing the overall picture. I provided design, websites, print, videos etc but only as bit parts. That is fine when you are working with a marketing department within a company because they see the overall plan and just need skilled people to carry out tasks. When you are representing a small business in its marketing endeavours it is important that all aspects of their marketing are joined up and integrated to work together in harmony. Over the past few years I have had periods where I have stepped out of my business and each time I have come back with a different outlook which has helped me move my business on. I also apply what I have learnt to my clients businesses. When a small business owner really wants to grow and makes the difficult decision to work with an agency great things can happen. I have found my own journey through business very fulfilling but achieving goals for another person is further enthusing. That is why I have always preferred to work with small businesses rather than spending my time ‘brand chasing’ for blue chip clients – it just isn’t me.
The only problem I find again and again is that so few small businesses really have what it takes to be great! People dot about buying a website here, some print there but never think about the bigger picture. That is why they are not successful. Also designer and website designers will produce some nice looking media for you but do not have a clue how to market your business, generate leads or build customer loyalty.
Back to Fidelity. I had a vision when I created Fidelity. My aim is to move Fidelity on to provide a new and unprecedented service that puts a small business owner in charge of their marketing and saving time and money learning the hard way.
Fidelity’s service can be accessed in three ways. If you are local and want to work with me and my team personally www.fidelitycreative.co.uk is for you. We still offer design, websites and print but with a marketing service. If you let me and my team do what we do best, you won’t be disappointed.
If you want to take control of your own marketing you can do this in one of two ways... www.fidelityprint.co.uk will shortly be loaded with professionally designed ‘templates’ that you can edit and redesign online before placing your order.
If you like fidelityprint and want to have your own marketing materials created or transferred into your own account you may do so and to find out how this works visit www.fidelitysolutions.co.uk
By putting you in charge I hope to liberate small businesses from the years that it takes to get good at business. By using the online services combined with my advice you have the recipe to market your business to success.
Louise
